Julie Woodward

I am Herefordian born and bred, originating from Much Dewchurch and moving into Hereford City when I got married. I have lived in the Whitecross area for the last 24 years, I am married to Andrew and we have a teenage daughter.

I am a governor of both Lord Scudamore and Whitecross Specialist Sports College, chairperson of Herefordshire Money Box Credit Union and chairperson of the St Nicholas Community Association.

My interest in local politics began when as Chairperson of the Friends of Lord Scudamore School we fought to obtain the old Flour Mills site in Friar Street. It made me realise how much more I could do if I was an elected councillor. I stood for both Herefordshire Council and Hereford City Council in 2003 and finally got elected in 2007. I stood for election because I care passionately about the St Nicholas Ward and wanted to make a difference.

Four years on and those feelings are still there and it is a real privilege to represent the people of the St Nicholas Ward.
