Mark Hubbard

From the week he was born, Mark has been coming to Hereford, where his family have lived for generations.

From as early as he can remember, he always wanted to move here in to the house he visited as a boy. Finally, in 1999 he managed to buy the house and re-located permanently to Herford city in 2000.

Mark has had a varied career, including working for Shelter, the Empty Property Unit and as a principal officer at London Borough of Lambeth. Following his time in Brixton, he spent two years re-training as an actor at Bristol Old Vic and 5 years in the profession, but when the opportunity to move to Hereford arose he didn’t hesitate.

He now lives in what is left of Hereford Castle, where he and his partner run a self catering holiday cottage. A well known face in Church Street, Mark spent 5 years working in Fodder and stood for election to Herefordshire Council in 2007. His role as councillor has become increasingly demanding, so he now does that full time.
