Road maintenance ‘more likely if you live in a Conservative ward’

This reporter seems to be missing the point slightly. There are more Tory wards than IOC wards so they will get the lion’s share of the road maintenance money Central Government sent last year to bail out our Cabinet but (as Cllr David Summer’s has stressed repeatedly) there has to be scope for the Council’s contractors, Balfour Beatty, to adjust their 12/24 month schedules when safety issues become paramount, as they have along the Holme Lacy Causeway.

Cllr David Summers has been battling hard for over a year on this issue.
